Wagner Field RealFlight G3.5 Simulation

Click the image for a larger screen shot

Use this link ('Southern New Hampshire RC Club - Proof of Concept.gx3') to save the RealFlight G3.5 airport simulation file on your hard disk.  Be prepared, it's 64MB in size.

Next run RealFlight G3.5 and select Simulation, Import, GX3...
Browse to the saved .gx3 file, and open it. You should eventually get a message saying "The PhotoField in Southern New Hampshire RC Club - Proof of Concept.G3X was successfully imported"

Finally, Select Simulation, Airport, and scroll down to the "Southern New Hampshire RC Club - Proof of Concept". Note that the field preview will not be available until after it is successfully loaded.

This PhotoField was created from about 30 pictures taken at the field on December 10, 2006.  Since it was my first attempt you will notice good detail on the horizon, and just 'Photoshop filler' for a lot of the ground and sky.

For the curious amongst you, the panoramic image was created using Autostitch, and Adobe Photoshop.  Click the thumbnail photo below to view the full image (about 32MB).

Next time, I'll take a lot more photos to get more detail on the ground and sky.  But, for a first effort, I think it is quite useable.  You can fly through most of the obstacles, but watch out for the shed and my car!

My second attempt can be found at this link: ('SNHRCC-GliderField_PI-2008-11-15.G3X').  The photofield is not as grainy, but I made the mistake of taking the photos while standing on top of the field shelter building.  As a result, the pilot's perspective is a bit off.
